Under water Autumn by Richard Hugo

Under City Spring
Now the spring cloud jumps twice round the city,
like a circular phantom of the last cold breath.
The seal near to silver from frost blood shot windows
breaks the light of golden fields or fruit stands.
The dog slides his tail nervously and hides
behind the log, locked in bubble wrap, that stirring
with his tail tucked under and above the woman
who smiles and waves and waves beyond the winter.
Her gloves moving a bush, then moving a sunlamp,
which turns her synthetic laminated skin
into a bronze statue, unwitting her caged body
moves now hunting with him for brighter days.
