I was in granddaddy's car
I saw Mimi flying by,
Her road was still going,
we sat waiting,
the stop light loomed laughing at me.
If cars could fly, we would fly over stop lights.
If cars could fly, cars of yellow, blue, purple, green/
red, orange, and my lovely pink scooter,
would fly to the sky and make a car rainbow.
If cars could fly they would fly to the car/graveyard,
fix their wings,
use them to build a bridge of dead cars
living cars could then cross the ocean.
If cars could fly route 66 would be clouds,
clouds would be purple, the sky would be pink
We would travel through telephones and never feel lonely.
If cars could fly parking would be free,
you could build cloud houses,
Disney World in an hour,
Paris in an afternoon.
If cars could fly you would miss the bird droppings,
you could fly a kite out your sun roof,
you could catch your balloon,
before it floated it away reminding you of loss.
If cars could fly would they still sell peanuts?
ask the stewardess she knows, and she still smells the breath.
If cars could fly, the crash would cause bliss
and then fading from earth and then bliss again.
If cars could fly tires would be made of helium,
we would all talk funny,
high pitched voices,
heaven would embrace us,
and I could see Mimi.
The light turns green,go granddaddy hurry.
